By now, I’m sure may of you would have heard about the story of Christian HGTV couple, Chip and Joanna Gaines, hosts of the hit show Fixer Upper who, in recent days have fallen prey to the merciless jaws of unrelentingly vicious left-wing beasts.
The controversy was sparked after BuzzFeed published a startling “investigative report” “uncovering” an apparently “dark” and “terrifying” secret about the pastor of the church Chip and Joanna attend.
I guess the bored BuzzFeed “news reporter” had enough time on her hands to go digging around on Google to find something “shocking” about this couple. And find something “shocking”, she did.
The ridiculous article headlined “Chip And Joanna Gaines’ Church Is Firmly Against Same-Sex Marriage” said:
They are also, as they detail in The Magnolia Story, devout Christians — Joanna has spoken of and written about her conversations with God. (God told her both to close her store to spend time with her children, and then to reopen it a few years later.) Their church, Antioch Community Church, is a nondenominational, evangelical, mission-based megachurch. And their pastor, Jimmy Seibert, who described the Gaineses as “dear friends” in a recent video, takes a hard line against same-sex marriage and promotes converting LGBT people into being straight.
So are the Gaineses against same-sex marriage? And would they ever feature a same-sex couple on the show, as have HGTV’s House Hunters and Property Brothers? Emails to Brock Murphy, the public relations director at their company, Magnolia, were not returned. HGTV’s PR department did not respond to initial emails and calls. Two days after this story was published, they released the following statement: “We don’t discriminate against members of the LGBT community in any of our shows. HGTV is proud to have a crystal clear, consistent record of including people from all walks of life in its series.”
That question as to whether the Gaineses were against same-sex marriage and if they would ever feature a same-sex couple on their show was specifically designed to provoke controversy.
The show isn’t about theology nor is it even religious. The couple never said anything “religiously extreme” on their show to create this fireball of controversy. It’s a home remodelling show, for goodness sake! In fact, one need not even know the hosts religious views in order to enjoy the show.
And to think it all started over the revelation that this couple goes to church that believes and preaches what the Bible teaches. I kid you not!
Clearly, this was a deliberate set-up against this Christian couple to find out something that would incriminate them and then stir up a controversy. And that’s precisely what ‘journalist’ Kate Aurthur did when she published the viral BuzzFeed article under the tag ‘fail.’
As the Benham Brothers (regular WND contributors) have rightly pointed out, the LGBT ‘bully mafia’ is busily waging an all-out ‘witch hunt’ against anyone who holds – let alone expresses – Biblically-sound Christian beliefs. The Gaineses just so happened to be the LGBT mafia’s hapless victims this time around.
Dave and Jason Benham, authors of Living Among Lions, certainly know about this persecution firsthand after they lost their own show on HGTV in 2014 over their pro-life and pro-marriage beliefs.
After BuzzFeed published the story about the Gaineses, Cosmopolitan magazine, US Weekly, Jezebel and other stinking web cesspools of impotent leftist rage have taken this “breaking news” and run with it because they know they’ll get clicks and lots of it.
The theme was essentially the same with all of them. It was a vicious rage mingled with shock and horror from the left on beliefs that the couple’s church held – because that’s apparently hateful. And if these lefties actually took the time to find out what this church is on about, they’ll find that they’re actually being true to the Bible by lovingly warning their fellow man of the harmful consequences of engaging in homosexual activity.
The shrieking, joyless feminists over at Jezebel (what a name) admit that while Chip and Joanna’s own views are not known, they surmise that we can assume the basis of their personal beliefs because apparently the Gaines’ have never remodelled a home for a transgender couple:
Would Chip and Joanna televise their giddy reveal of shiplap behind the walls of a married transgender couple’s home? How about a married gay couple who’s pretty sure they can’t be converted to heterosexuality? We’re not sure, as “the spokesperson for Antioch said she could not speak for Chip and Joanna.” But, writes Aurthur, “Seibert clearly does not offer any wiggle room on the issue.”
Well, if the Gaineses haven’t remodelled a home for a gay couple, that’s up to them right? They are simply sticking true to their personal beliefs.
But the gay mafia doesn’t see it that way. They want to purposely bully this Christian couple into submission to force their anti-God beliefs upon them.
These days, it seems that the leftists think faithful Christians are simply not allowed to achieve any publicity or stardom and that anyone who does slip through the cracks must be roasted immediately.
In fact even being a Christian is now seen as being “intolerant” and a hate crime and the Christaphobic left have made it their number one goal to embark on an extensive and highly resource intensive search and destroy mission to hunt down and silence all public believers.
We truly live in a time in which we are literally Daniels living amongst the lions. Let us pray for the courage to stand strong and unwavering in our beliefs amid the fires of increasing persecution. Are you ready? You could be the next unfortunate victim of violent “progressive” liberal thinking.
